Daddy Tator

While the Daddy Tator Band only surfaced in 2014, Daddy Tator has been rooted in the greater Charlotte area for decades. Composed of Daddy Tator on vocals and guitar, Edward Lee on bass, and Jesse Donovan on drums, the Rock and Blues band is a culmination of Tator’s eclectic influences — From Johnny Cash to Hank Williams, the Beatles, Pink Floyd, and Frank Zappa — Tator draws from a wellspring of inspiration to create a raw, powerful sound with off-beat original lyrics.

On Thanksgiving Day of 2016, the band released their first album, Your Imagination, as well as a hit Christmas single titled Unhappy Elf, which received rave reviews. In April of 2017, the band’s most recent album, Perfekt Jeanyus, was released, and has also been very well received internationally.

Band Lineup:

Daddy Tator performs on six and twelve-string guitars, ukulele, four-string bass guitar, drums, and other percussion instruments. In studio, he expands his repertoire even further, playing keyboards, four and six-string banjo, four string mountain dulcimer, slide guitar, jaw harp, and more.

Also a prolific multi-instrumental musician, Edward Lee sings backup vocals and plays bass guitar, upright bass, classical guitar, and six-string acoustic guitar. Lee joined Daddy Tator on stage in 2007.

Drummer Jesse Donovan is a multi-instrumental musician with over 20 years of experience performing and composing in a wide variety of genres. On the drums, Donovan is versatile — he carries rhythms in Jazz, Rock, Metal, Latin, Country, and Americana. On and off stage, Donovan switches it up, playing piano, bass guitar, lead guitar, keyboards, acoustic guitar and vocals, and more. He also serves as the band’s recording engineer, producer, and videographer.
